Why don’t you carry your candy like a chic little accessory? That was the question Kim Jones posed at his Fendi Fall/Winter ’24 ready-to-wear show in Milan.

The artistic director paired his leather handbags with brightly colored lollipop holders, replete with Chupa Chups suckers inside. Some models even wore the containers around their necks, like stylish leather bolo-tie necklaces.

Of course, this was no regular lollipop holder—it was constructed with the brand’s Selleria leather, a handmade material with macro topstitches the company has been crafting since 1938 (and which takes six times as long to make compared to machine-produced products).

It got me thinking: Why aren’t we considering snacking more often when it comes to fashion? After all, so many elements of fashion are named after various kinds of food: sandwich dressing, Fendi’s baguette bags, jelly shoes, tea dresses.
